Annotation:
The film illuminates the holiday of Slavic writing and culture in Novgorod, dedicated to the memory of the enlighteners Cyril and Methodius. For the first time ways of preserving the spiritual heritage of the Slavic peoples were commonly discussed by scientists, writers and representatives of the Orthodox clergy. The film was shot during the Holiday of Slavic writing and culture, held in Novgorod in may 1988, the Festival was dedicated to 1125-th anniversary of creation of the Slavic alphabet and grammar by Cyril and Methodius. Writers Slavophiles Yuri Bondarev, S. Zalygin's, V. Astafyev, M. Antonov, V. Krupin, and others, as well as Archimandrite O. The Eulogy talking about his role in the origins and ways of development of Russian Orthodox tradition.
