Through photographs and newsreels of the early twentieth century, 1920-30-ies, the war and postwar archival materials, the film provides insight into the history of the Petersburg-Leningrad fire Department, which in 1988 celebrated 185 years. The film shows the modern firefighters, their training, the work, the system of modern fire protection of the city.
