Oleg Valerievich Kotov worked as an assistant to the leading doctor of the Gagarin Central Research Center, he was enlisted in the cosmonaut squad in 1996. He made three space flights, together with Mikhail Tyurin, Fyodor Yurchikhin and Sergey Ryazansky took part in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Torch Relay.
